Southern Myanmar weather. When is the best time to go?
If you are interested in a trip to Myanmar you might be searching to know “When to go?”, “When is it raining?” . There are two main geographical regions in Myanmar – Lower Myanmar and Upper Myanmar. The lower part is has a coastal area with deep forest and has wet raining season, while the upper part a specially the central is drier parts of the country. The climate of the country is diverse in the south and some months can experience subtropical monsoon. It is and hot in the Lower Burma, much more dry and cooler in Burma Upper but that depends on the season which we will try to discuss below.
Rainy season.
The rainy season in Myanmar falls on the months of May – August, the cold season begins in October, the warmth and rainless weather begin in February. During the rainy season Myanmar experience a lot of rain. The rain and hot temperature makes humid and not everyone of us likes this kind of weather. The second problem with the raining season is that because of heavy rainfall, road floods may also occur. As a result some roads and area for some days of hours might be impossible to travel.
Dry season
Certainly much better to visit Burma is the dry season, which lasts from November to May. The best weather conditions, when there is little rainfall, and tropical temperatures are still quite pleasant, prevail between November and February.
Hot season
Between March and May, heat is hard to bear. Half of May is also the beginning of the rainy season.
Much less tourists decide to visit Burma in the rainy season, which usually lasts from mid-May to the end of October. The heaviest, specially in the south of Myanmar is rainfall between June, July and August.

The greater part of Burma’s surface is covered by forests, with a diverse composition and many unique species of trees (such as teakwood) and other plants. Numerous species of exotic animals live in the forests such as: elephants, tigers, bears and sea turtles.
